Keep your eyes peeled

I am getting ready to present my photo sessions to clients real soon. This weekend Todd and I will be busy doing some DIY crafting. I am excited and praying that everything works out and goes soothingly! So basically I am going to have two choices to choose from for photo's. Both different yet so fun! I haven't really been able to do a "theme" session and well since the holiday's are just the best I decided it would be worth the shot and see how it all works out. Hoping for the best! Wish me luck ;) Stay tuned for the fun news momentarily!

Back in the swing

Now that we are back living in California right now, I am slowly getting back in the swing of things. I am pumped and geared up for the best time of the year! I have a few ideas that I want to hopefully offer to my clients for the holiday photo season. But before all that, I want to share my latest sessions that I shot a few weeks ago. Just Peachy

My brother in Law Dustin {my sister Shealeen's husband} family have a fruit farm and had so many fruits they gave us a bunch of fresh apples and peaches to take off their hands. I have been thinking what could I do with all these peaches before they go bad. I'd hate for them to go bad and be wasted. My sister in law Laura made Peach cobbler the other night. OH yes! So good and so easy to make which is nice. I decided that's what I'm going to make...Peach Cobbler! I even have vanilla bean ice cream to go with it. It's meant to happen! Today I did a little packing for our move back to California, got Aila down for her nap and got on the peach cobbler. It's funny to me that I have dessert baking in the oven before I have given the slightest thought of what to make for dinner. I'll just put that on the back burner for now. Back to the Peach Cobbler! I found a recipe that looked good, but I changed it and gave it a different twist of my own. Hoping I didn't just waste 4 perfectly good large peaches to my weakness of tapering off recipe guide lines. I can be quite good at ruining a good thing. But So far so good ;)

INGREDIENTS

1 15 oz. can of peaches -- I put about 4 large fresh peaches. Cut them up and put them in the blender. Blended them chuncky.

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1 cup milk

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 cup butter

I added a little lemon juice

pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Melt cube of butter in pan in oven.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, milk, baking powder and salt. Mix well.
  4. Take out the pan with the melted butter and pour the peaches in with the juice. Add cake mixture to the peaches, pouring it in all over like a swirl.
  5. Do not mix.
  6. Bake for 25-35 minutes. ENJOY!

And so it turned out delicious! The best way to say goodbye to summer with a yummy fresh peachy dessert!

Last week in Utah

No, you read that right. This week is our last week in Utah. With many prayers and long consideration, we have decided moving back to California is the best route for our family at this time. It's yet again a bittersweet situation. We love Utah and will be back one day to raise our growing family. While living here for this short time, I have really surprised myself on how much I really enjoy it up here. It's refreshing, beautiful [even in the hot heat of summer], and different. I go back about 2 years ago while pregnant with Aila, Todd and I were discussing our future on a deeper level. Where would we like to raise our children and have them go to school and Utah was on the list. I remember being so against considering Utah. Now I am defiantly eating my words. It's funny how life never goes in the direction you want it. God has different plans for us right now that we do not understand, but we have faith that it will all work out in good time. So with that said I will be open for Sessions back in California for the Holiday Season! Look for openings soon once we are settled in ;)

9 days in California

So to continue on our trip to California last week, there are a few highlights that stick out and are Blog worthy. Tuesday we had a great time at Lake Skinner with the kiddos. They loved the splash pads and play ground. Never been? It's a great escape from the city! Wednesday we celebrated my Grandma's birthday[the twins] at Jason's deli. They turned 88 years old! Holy Cannoli! These two are the most wonderful unselfish women ever! They are so special and perfect to me. They sure have started such a large beautiful family. I love coming from a very large family. Friday we HAD to get our Dragon House on!! Thee best Chinese food ever! I highly recommend it. I know I have blogged about Dragon House one or twice before, but I'm dead serious...THEE BEST Chinese food! I wouldn't steer you wrong on good quality food. It's located in Moreno Valley off of Alessandro blvd. Go and Enjoy if your in the Inland Empire area. We ended the week back home visiting Gigi Phyllis in St. George. I'd say last week was dedicated to family! Lots and lots of family time. Now were home and enjoying our last two weeks here in Utah. [to be continued]

Erik's Homecoming

There is nothing like greeting your family member whom you have not seen in person for two whole years! Most of all of us were able to make it to Erik's arrival at the airport like we did with my other brothers Garrett and Brandon. The anticipation and happy jumpy hearts anxious to see his face turn the airport terminal corner! Finally we see him!!! Se shouted and screamed of joy! He's floating down the escalator and falls right into my mother's arms! It is such a special moment to remember! We cried, hugged and were so blessed to have him home safe and sound. I told my mom before hand that she was now all done. This was her last missionary! I could tell she was happy about that thought. To be so proud of what they all have accomplished, but to not worry about them so far away any longer. It was such a great start to the long wonderful week we had in California.
